The boss and the split star share very different reasons why they had to stay away from Reddit after the first season

It’s a great feeling when viewers find a show that creates a world so intriguing that they can’t stop thinking about it when it ends. It’s even better when you can find a community of like-minded fans to solve all possible mysteries and theories. by Dan Errickson Break on Apple TV + it’s exactly that kind of show, and Reddit is full of opinions about it Cliffhanger season 1’s insane finale and general operations at Lumon Industries. Erickson, along with Tramell Tillman, who plays supervisor Seth Milchick, had to avoid falling down Reddit’s rabbit hole, but for very different reasons.

Dan Erickson, executive producer Ben Stiller and a handful of the actors of Break (which has been classified by IMDb users as one of the best new shows of the year so far ) spoke to a panel during San Diego Comic-Con on July 21, and when moderator Patton Oswalt admitted he became addicted to reading fan theories about the series on Reddit, Erickson showed empathy, telling the crowd ( from uh ):

I was warned not to go to Reddit for this show. And it lasted about six minutes. And then I’ve been there every day for a while. Because it is addictive. It’s really interesting to see people’s theories and sometimes they come up with better ideas than I thought.

Reddit users should feel welcome to welcome this comment. It’s a nice compliment for a series creator to admit that some fan ideas are more interesting than what they came up with. While one wonders if any of these messages influenced the progression of the story or caused Dan Erickson to change the direction of the plot, that’s precisely why he said he had to remove. He continued:

But in the end I had to walk away from that because as we write season 2 it’s this thing of endless options, and at some point you have to commit to what you do. And at that point, I think it would be counterproductive to have all these other voices in your head, no matter how great they are, and other ideas of where it might go. Because there are endless paths we could take. So I really enjoyed it, but I have had to go back in the last few weeks.

While there are some fascinating discussions on Reddit, yes I wasted quite a bit of time there too, I trust Dan Erickson. vision and whatever direction the authors intend to take our beloved MDR employees.

Meanwhile, Tramell Tillman had a completely different experience when he visited the forum, as he realized that fans were more interested in talking about his physical characteristics. Tillman told the Comic-Con crowd:

I have messages saying I should go to Reddit and read it. And then I saw that the Reddit posts were very flattering about my anatomy. A specific domain. So I left Reddit.

A lot of spectators buy Defiant Jazz from all over, I see! At least the reviews were brilliant?
