MTV Video Music Awards: Kendrick Lamar, Jack Harlow and Lil Nas X Top Nominations

The nominations for the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards have been revealed, with Kendrick Lamar, Jack Harlow and Lil Nas X leading with seven nominations each.

Harlow and Lil Nas X earned multiple nominations for their collaboration “INDUSTRY BABY,” including nominations for Video of the Year, Best Collaboration, Best Director, Best Art Direction, Best Visual Effects, and Best Choreography. Harlow and Lil Nas X are also among the Artist of the Year nominees. Lamar, who is nominated for the first time since 2018, is nominated for Best Hip-Hop for “N95”, Best Video and Best Visual Effects for “Heart Part 5” and Best Cinematography for “Family Ties” (also nominated for Film). Best Edition) and “N95”.

They are followed by Doja Cat and Harry Styles with 6 each, and Billie Eilish, Drake, Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift and The Weeknd with 5 each.

Swift’s short film and directorial debut “All Too Well (Taylor’s Version)” is nominated for Video of the Year, as well as Best Feature Film, Cinematography, Directing and Editing.

Madonna, who holds the title of most decorated artist in MTV history with 20 wins, is now the only artist nominated for each VMA in five decades after earning her 69th nomination for “MADAME X”.

The 2022 ceremony will take place on Sunday, August 28 at 8pm ET/PT live from the New Jersey Prudential Center. For the third year in a row, the VMAs air simultaneously on the CW Network, in addition to BET, BET Her, CMT, Comedy Central, Logo, MTV2, Nickelodeon, Paramount Network, Pop, TVLand and VH1.

Fans can vote in 22 gender-neutral categories, including the new Best Feature-Length Video and Best Metaverse Performance categories, through Friday, August 19th. Nominations in the social categories, including Group of the Year and Song of the Summer, will be announced at a later date.
