Prime Video today released the official trailer for Samaritanthe highly anticipated superhero film directed by Julisu Avery starring Sylvester Stallone. In getting the MGM by the colossus of Jeff Bezosthe film will arrive directly on Amazon’s streaming platform on August 26th.
The film tells the story of a thirteen year old Sam Cleary (Javon “Wanna” Walton) who suspects his mysterious and lonely neighbor Mr. Smith (Sylvester Stallone) is none other than the Granite City vigilante, Samaritanwho lost his life after a fiery fight in a warehouse with his rival, Nemesis. Most believe that the Samaritan died in the fire, but some in the town, like Sam, hope that he is still alive. With crime on the rise and the city on the brink of chaos, Sam decides to persuade his neighbor to come out of hiding to save the city from destruction.

In a recent interview, Sylvester Stallone said: “I love action movies that also have heart. I’m glad to be in Samaritan because this story has many levels where I think people can relate to. It is a kind of moral story that is very exciting to watch. We are excited that this project will be available globally on Prime Video, where my fans and all viewers can enjoy it together around the world.”
The film, directed by Julisu Avery from a screenplay by Bragi F. Schut, stars Javon “Wanna” Walton, Pilou Asbæk, Dascha Polanco and Moises Arias. Samaritan was produced by Sylvester Stallone and Braden Aftergood. Bragi F. Schut, David Kern, Adam Rosenberg and Guy Riedel are executive producers.
