In an interview, Estrela de A Roda do Tempo recalled a passage throughout the country and talked about the challenges in the 3rd year of Prime Video’s success series
JOSHA STRTRASKI It is in love with Brazil. Last December, the star of The wheel of time He was in São Paulo, to participate in CCXP24, and was thrilled with the passion of Brazilian fans, already well known internationally.
In an interview with Rolling Stone Brazilthe artist recalled the experience and declared his love for our country. “It was amazing. It was very, very exciting to go to Brazil and have such an amazing involvement with fans, because we haven’t had it in recent years because of strikes, Covid and all these things. It was the first time we have been in the world and not anywhere, in Brazil, which is my favorite country in the world. So it was a great experience ”he said.
In the new episodes of The wheel of timewhich are already available in Prime Video, the character of Sttrawski, Randtake a new step on his journey as a reborn dragon and seek important allies for the final battle against darkness, which can save or destroy humanity.
However, as it works to channel and fulfill its destination, Rand It approaches the madness that all men with the same ability suffer, which can endanger all those who love him.
In the following conversation, Sttrawski reveals long -term preparation to portray the rise and fall of the hero, such as relationships with Egwene (Madeleine Madden) and Lar (NATASHA O’KEEFFE) will affect them, their journey as a political leader and the most challenging scenes of filming in the third season of The wheel of time. Check it out:
This season, Rand will receive training from LAN (Daniel Henney). How was your physical preparation for the new challenges?
JOSHA STRTRASKI:I know things will happen later in history and, if we are lucky to get to that point, I really wanted Rand feel like the most powerful plumbing in the world. I would also like to be able to incorporate this physically, but not only to be so strong, but also after that, when they take everything from it, to have the transformation into something that is not strong, [mas] Very, very weak.
Deep in my mind, I was already interpreting the fall of Randpossibly in the following seasons, because I read the books and I know what is coming. I felt that I wanted to feel free in my body, I did everything I could to get it. I think it’s better to feel strong than it seems strong.

Rand needs to learn to channel, even knowing that this will go crazy and possibly hurt the people he loves. Will we see him using this power and the consequences of this?
JS:Yes, you will see more of your power, for sure. In previous seasons, Rand didn’t want the dragon [Renascido]. The others wanted the dragon. Now he wants the dragon and they don’t want the dragon. With that, he also wants more of the single power. Moiraine (ROSAMUND PIKE) He thinks he is hiding and running away from unique power, but in fact he is always there and calls him. And he describes this as if he was in the middle of the desert and almost dying of thirst, and there she is, a pond right in front of him. It can almost taste the water itself and water is like life itself, better than life.
This is much more present this season and that’s what I wanted. I wanted the channeling of Rand He was more aligned, so that he was the strength and a container by which power came through him. And with that comes a lot of danger, because every time you channeling as a man, it brings you madness and brings you closer to killing the people you love. There are many dangers.
Rand fell in love with Lanfear. Will we see these feelings affecting your journey as a dragon?
JS:This definitely affects you in a very big way and that’s what we will play with this season. AND Rafe [Judkins, showrunner de A Roda do Tempo] And we talked about this with the idea of: ‘S if you can marry the demon?’ Because we play with the idea that Lar It may be able to remove your oaths from the claim, which means there may be a future there. I like it because Lar It’s an abandoned and we say this is bad. But she is the only one who really understands him and who fully accepts him. And that’s not all, Rand also brings a kind of lightness to Lar That is also new to her or at least she didn’t feel it for a long time.
Josha, Egwene pledged to be by the Rand until the end of this journey, but she went through many traumatic situations in season two. Will we see Rand returning this support?
JS: Yes, they are together, but in a way they are not. It is as if they were children together. They just scratched the surface. They don’t share any secrets together, actually, but really care about each other. They will always be there for each other.
But I think they both know they need to follow different paths and there is a beautiful scene at the end of this season, which I could film with Maddie [Madeleine Madden]Without revealing much, it was one of my favorite scenes, in which they really reveal a lot of themselves. This will also be very invigorating to the public.

The Rand needs to find new allies and an army while running away from its enemies. How is this journey as a leader for him?
JS:He is definitely assuming the role of leader more, but because he knows this is what he has to do. His goal is very kind, but at the same time, he also has a very childish fear and has a new kind of hatred inside him. And it is in these three aspects that it transforms.
What he shows to the outside world is that he is assuming this new responsibility of being the prophesied warrior and trying to save or destroy the world. But he needs people who can trust and this is the most important to him this season: finding people who can trust. And these people may be the people of the dragon, who may be in AIEL WASTE.
What is the best part of interpreting rand so far?
JS:The best part of interpreting the Rand so far, this season, it has been, in fact, not to interpret the Rand. There was an episode, episode four, in which I played seven different characters, which have to do with the Randbut they are not the Rand. And with that came a lot: prostheses, beards … I worked with all the different departments and we worked very close. It was the biggest fun I’ve ever had on set before.
Was this your biggest challenge in the new season?
JS:I studied at a theater school and probably had some things with masks and things like that. But entering a prosthesis takes seven hours, where you wear lenses, beard and a fat suit. And you don’t know this character. Of course you have an idea of a character and I got as prepared as possible, but I had to be very open to what the day reserved me, because we didn’t have much time. This forced me to be open and flexible. There was no room for rigidity.
There was one day, for example, that was really challenging, in which I found this character in the first time and it was in a dark studio, there were wind machines, smoke and I was wearing lenses. Fat Suit was so hot that I wanted to pass out. I couldn’t see the other actress because I was wearing lenses and, with the smoke, I couldn’t see anything, and the wind machines were so noisy that I couldn’t hear it. At the same time, with the camera on my face, I was trying to find the character. That was very, very challenging to me.
