He had been nominated earlier, but as a director. In 2011, as best director in dramatic series for Boardwalk Empire and in 2012, in the category of best direction in nonfiction program, for George Harrison: Living in the Material World.

In The studio, Seth Rogen interpret Matt Remicknewly named head of the problematic continental Studios, who needs to fight his own insecurities to deal with greedy artists and corporate leaders while struggling for films to remain alive and relevant.
