Newen Connect, the distribution arm of Newen Studios, owned by the TF1 Group, is teaming up with Andy Serkis’ Imaginarium Productions to co-develop and distribute. Mrs!An epic period series about the life of Marie Tussaud, the French artist and businesswoman who founded the world-famous Madame Tussauds wax museum.
Serkis, known for his role as Gollum in the film. Lord of the Rings Cinema and Kezer Monkey’s Planet franchise, created the series, and will serve as showrunner and director. Imaginarium, the production team Serkis leads with Jonathan Cavendish, will produce Mrs! With Marie Guillaumond of Felicita Films.
Newen Connect will help fund the development of the series, as well as market the program internationally.
Mrs! The untold story of Tussaud, a French artist known for his wax sculptures who honed his craft during the Age of Enlightenment and the French Revolution and fled to England during the French Reign of Terror, founding the legendary wax museum in London. in 1835.

The Mrs! The deal follows investments such as Newen’s support of Ringside Media, which recently acquired a minority stake in British independent production company Joi Productions from producer Joy Gharoro-Akpojotor.blue story), which focuses on stories starring blacks, homosexuals and women.
