Olivia Newton-Johnfamous actor and singer who associated his career with iconic works such as Greasepassed away at his ranch in Southern California at the age of 73.
Her husband John Easterling broke the news with a statement on the missing actress’ social channels. The cause of death has not been officially confirmed, however, it seems to be related to the complex clinical picture arising from breast cancer, which was diagnosed for the first time in 1992. The disease appeared again in 2017, forcing the him to interrupt the tour where he is now engaged..
In the press release released by her husband on social networks, we read:
“Ms. passed away peacefully. Olivia Newton-John (73) this morning at her ranch in Southern California surrounded by family and friends. We ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time.
Olivia has been a symbol of success and hope for over 30 years by sharing her breast cancer journey. Her inspiration and pioneering experience in herbal medicine continues today with the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund, dedicated to herbal medicine and cancer research. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that all donations be made in her memory to the Olivia Newton-John Foundation.
Olivia is survived by her husband, John Easterling; to his daughter Chloe Lattanzi; to sister Sarah Newton-John; to his brother Toby Newton-John; to grandchildren Tottie, Fiona and Brett Goldsmith; Emerson, Charlie, Zac, Jeremy, Randall, and Pierz Newton-John; Jude Newton-Stock, Layla Lee; Kira and Tasha Edelstein; and Brin and Valerie Hall.

He became known to the general public thanks to the role of Sandy in the musical Greasewhere he starred alongside his great friend John Travolta. The film adaptation of the famous Broadway musical remains the most successful musical film of all time. Here Newton-John has a duet with his song partner Summer Nightsalso sings a ballad Hopelessly Dedicated to You. In addition to the singles taken from Grease, his biggest success remains the 1981 hit Physically.
How many years away from GreaseOlivia Newton-John tried her hand at musical theater again in Xanaduremake of Beauties in heaven from 1947. The film proved to be a resounding failure, in contrast to the soundtrack which had a great sales success.
In 2011 we saw him again in the cinema in the successful Australian comedy Three men and a sheep.
