The new series, which opens on September 4 at Peacock, follows the ambitions of a new chief editor trying to revitalize the decaying newspaper of a quiet US city of the USA
Oscar, The Officeshe can barely believe she is again in front of the same team of documentary artists who followed him for years at Dunder Mifflin, as shown by Sitcom’s official spin-off trailer,The Paper.
Repressing his role as the always irritated accountant, Oscar (interpreted by Oscar Nuñez) Want distance from the new team project. “Once again, no. I didn’t agree with any of this,” he says, moving away from the cameras. “I’ll make it useless – shit. Use that.”
The new series follows NED SAMPSON (Domhnall Gleeson), a new chief editor trying to revitalize the decaying newspaper Toledo Truth Tellerin a small town in the interior. The task will not be easy: their reluctant reporters admit that the closest experience they had with a real newspaper was writing newsrooms at school, posting on social networks and participating in messaging groups.
“Have you read this newspaper? Do you think it compares to any other?” Asks one employee (interpreted by Chelsea Frei) Gleeson. “It’s terrible,” he responds on time. “But we will make it better.”
The cast also includes Sabrina Impacciatore (of The White Lotusfrom HBO), MELVIN GREGG (American Vandal), and comedians GBEMISOLA IKUMELO and Alex Edelmanbetween others.
The Paper was co-created by Greg Daniels (The Office) and Michael Koman (Nathan for You), and debut with four episodes on the day September 4. From there, two new episodes will be released every Thursday, until the end of the season, in September 25.
