Nickname given by the prodigy CEO refers to Peter Pan and may reflect the fate of children transformed into hybrids
In Alien: Earth, Noah Hawley presents one of the most unsettling ideas of the series: hybrids, human children transplanted to cyber bodies, called “The Lost Boys” (“Lost Boys”). The nickname did not arise from children’s families, but from Boy Cavalier (Samuel Blenkin, Mickey 17), CEO of Prodigy Corporationcompany responsible for the experiments.
The choice of name is not free: Cavalier is inspired by Neverland boys of Peter Panby JM Barrie. As well as the characters in the tale, the hybrids of Alien: Earth They are children who will never grow or aging.
“These bodies in which I put these children are my property. They are a product of immortality that I am developing, so I keep the rights of appointment.”declared the executive inside the plot.
Despite mechanical bodies and longevity promise, hybrids still have children’s minds. They live confined in “Neverland”a private island of Cavalier.
Although Alien: Earth Expands the franchise universe, the canon of original films suggests that hybrids will not have a lasting future. They are never mentioned in later productions, and experiences seen in Alien: Romulus show that the Weyland-Yutani It would invest in another way to prolong life: bioacuction with xenomorph material, not the fusion of humans with machines.
This points to a tragic destination: “lost boys” may not survive beyond the series. If Peter Pan represented the fantasy of eternal childhood, in Alien: Earth This idea turns into a nightmare.
