The last time Timothée Chalamet collaborated with director Luca Guadagnino, things went incredibly well. call me by your name was one of the most critically acclaimed films released in 2017, winning the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay and solidifying Chalamet’s reputation as one of the best actors of his generation. Therefore, we have been looking forward to the reunion of the star and director ever since, and now that we take our first look at bones and allour expectation has only increased.
The film will soon have its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival and Timothée Chalamet has distributed the first bones and all trailer on your staff instagram page. It’s not what you’d call an extended preview, as it only lasts 29 seconds, but it provides a good sense of the vibe the feature was looking for and feels like a solid mix of horror and romance. .
Based on the novel of the same name by Camille DeAngelis, Bones And All tells the story of Maren (Taylor Russell) and Lee (Timothée Chalamet), an unknown young couple in 1980s America who meet and fall in love. . They go on a long journey together trying to escape and understand their past, and the fact that Maren is a compulsive cannibal adds a bit of a problem to the relationship.
What is particularly fascinating about this bones and all teaser is his genre presentation. She draws you into the romance as the two beautiful young lovers sit face to face and Lee asks Maren to forgive her misdeeds … but things change quickly. We don’t actually see anything horrible happening in the cut that follows (there are no shots of Maren attacking anyone, for example), but all the fear is exhausted a lot with sounds of screams and blows of terrified faces.
We first learned bones and all reuniting in January 2021, when Timothée Chalamet and Luca Guadagnino would collaborate on the adaptation. Our first horror / romantic look arrived in March, if only for Chalamet shared a close look at the main characters end of July:
Timothée Chalamet and Taylor Russell star in bones and all, but they are surrounded by casting talent. Michael Stuhlbarg, who memorably played Chalamet’s father in Call Me By Your Name, is in the film alongside Academy Award winner Mark Rylance, Chloë Sevigny and André Holland.
The official date of the world premiere of bones and all at the Venice Film Festival has yet to be announced, the event will run from August 31 to September 10 and viewers won’t have to wait long after to see the cannibal romantic drama in theaters. United Artists will release the film on November 23, both in the heart of awards season and just in time for the mother of all culinary holidays, Thanksgiving.
