“[O Acústico MTV] It was a sensational project that will be 30 years old and we will launch this show in vinyl, the physical format that matters today – or you are on streaming, or you are in the vinyl. In an interview with JBFM Connections, Charles did not go so much deepened in speculation. The drummer preferred to remember the moment when the album was planned and recorded – initially, under distrust of the members themselves, who did not believe so much in the disguised format.

“The label insisted [em fazer um acústico] And we thought it had nothing to do with: ‘We are a rock band and electric pop’. But after two years of insistence, we convinced that it could be commercially good – and we can’t deny this side ever – and artistically could be good and challenging either. In fact, it was. We had to adapt to this shape of disappointing and playing with the guitars. It’s another way to play an instrument, playing a repertoire, reviewing an arrangement. We made the album in 1997, in a little while 30 years ago… and how fast. ”

The coolest tour, according to Charles Gavin

In the drummer’s opinion, the coolest tour of his period with Titans – between 1985 and 2010, in addition to the meeting between 2023 and 2024 – was precisely what released the album, reproducing the format with different guitars and instruments. The excursion began in 1997 and continued until the following year.

“I always say: this was the coolest tour I did while Titan, because we had a mini -orchestra with us. It was similar to the one who recorded the show in Rio de Janeiro, at the João Caetano Theater. There were four strings, six metals, percussion… Even harp came to have, played by Cristina Braga, one of the greatest harpistas in Brazil. It was supposed to be a limited scope tour, but the success of the album with the repertoire and the guests – Fito Páezwhich was from Argentina; Marisa Monteour friend always; Jimmy cliffauthor of ‘Want my blood’a version of ‘The Harder They eat’; Arnaldo Antunesour brother. ”
