Badlands innovates by centering its story on a Predator
Dan Trachtenberg is responsible for franchising Predator from his latest film, Prey. After bringing his screenplay about the clash between a Comanche warrior and an alien creature to the screen, he turned a new film within this universe: Badlands. Once again he wrote the screenplay before directing it.
Badlands brand a first in the history of the saga. Because this time, a Predator is at the center of the plot of the feature film. Rejected by his clan, the named creature Dek arrives on a mission to a planet considered the most dangerous in the universe. Its purpose is thatface the final opponent to demonstrate his worth to his people. During his journey he meets an android named Thia who becomes his ally.

A few days ago, an excerpt from Badlands was put online. It showed us the Predator at the center of the plot as he has to deal with the deadly vegetation of the planet he landed on. And in a new excerpt from the film, Dek finds himself in an even more difficult situation. This step probably happens before the extract revealed a few days ago.

In this sequence Dek finds himself taken prisoner by his own father. AND his brotherwho thinks the only way to honor his clan is to die, threatens to kill him. The excerpt stops as it’s about to strike and you’ll have to wait for the film’s release to see the rest of the scene.
The film will be released in a week
The release of Badlands now it is rapidly approaching. In France the film will arrive in cinemas next November 5th. The early box office results should give us an indication of the future of the franchise. If the numbers are good, 20th Century Studios may offer Dan Trachtenberg to write and direct a new film Predator.
Badlands it will be the second film Predator by the director who will be released this year. The latter also signed Killer of killersa sketch film made in animation. Consisting of three separate stories, it follows a Viking, a ninja, and a WWII pilot who each face a Predator in their own time. The film can be seen from 6 June onDisney+.
