Finally, franchising Evocation I won’t stop here
The fourth part of the saga Evocationtitled The Hour of Judgement, East based on the true Smurl family affairwho claimed to have experienced paranormal phenomena in the 1970s and 1980s. The film follows husband and wife Lorraine and Ed Warren as their investigation into the case forces them to confront each other an evil force reemerged from their past.
The hour of judgment was released on September 10th in French cinemas. And although it is still visible in some rooms, it’s a success since its release. According to the specialized site Box office mojohe collected more than 487 million dollars in the world. That’s how it became the most watched film of the series in the rooms. And it is therefore a huge success for Warner Bros. and New Line, who spent “only” 55 million dollars to produce it second Variety.
Rodrigue Huart in talks to direct a prequel
If The hour of judgment era billed as the final installment of the franchise Evocation before its release, It didn’t take long for Warner Bros. and New Line to reverse course. And as reported Variety, this prequel could be directed by a Frenchman. Why Rodrigue Huart has started negotiations to direct it. The latter notably directed the short film Transylvania. The scenario of the new Evocation should be written by Richard Naing AND Ian Goldberg. They have already signed the script together The hour of judgment as well as the spin-off The Nun: The Curse of Saint Lucia.
A series is also in preparation
The prequel to Evocation will once again focus on Lorraine and Ed Warren. He should be interested one of the couple’s first investigations specialized in paranormal phenomena. This means this Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson will likely not reprise their roles. They should be replaced by new players.
