Here’s what the design title category looked like from 2002 to 2021:

Television Academy voters are strongly in favor of drama series, which has received the vast majority of nominations over the past two decades.

Category rules state that show titles not in season one must be substantially changed (at least 75% difference) to be eligible. hbo Game of thrones is the only series to have won the main title design twice, its first season in 2011 and its final season in 2019.

These creatives have multiple Emmy nominations for their dramatic title sequences.

While premium cable channels continue to have a large presence in the category, streaming services have dabbled in the field since early 2010, effectively leaving the streaming network’s series in their wake.
