The cast of Thunders, one of Marvel Studios’ most anticipated films, has been officially announced. The unexpected and pleasant surprise that the studio brought to D23 Expo 2022, seeing the group of actors gathered to play the well-known group of Marvel anti-heroes can only arouse the enthusiasm of the fans.
The new team of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be something never seen before and will collect a series of very special characters that have appeared – some more, others less – in the latest films and series of the franchise. On the occasion of the dedicated panel, two images were presented, one where we can see the actors and the other where the first official concept of the group was presented.
Among the cast members with their respective characters involved we find Florence Pugh in the role of Yelena Belova, Wyatt Russell as John Walker aka US Agent, Hannah John-Kamen as Ava Starr aka Ghost, David Harbor as Red Guardian e Julia Louis-Dreyfuss who will reprise the role of Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. All this will be part of Thunderbolts, which he will also join Sebastian Stan in the role of Bucky Barnes aka Winter Soldier e Olga Kurylenko (also absent) from the role of Taskmaster. Thunders is the film designated to close Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the events of the film should – based on the first rumors spread – be a kind of consequence of the events of the previous film, the equally awaited Captain America: New World Order. It should also be considered that in the history of the comics, the Thunderbolts are the only ‘super’ team to act with the express permission of the government, an element that could be decisive in their integration into the MCU.
The film will be directed by Jake Schreierformer director of Paper Citywhile Eric Pearson – before work Black Widow – is confirmed in the development script. Thunders is expected to hit the big screen on July 26, 2024.
