Two-time Oscar-winning Iranian director Asghar Farhadi will preside over the competition jury at the 2022 Zurich International Film Festival, which will judge this year’s Golden Eye Award winners. Famous killer film producer Christine Vachon (boys do not Cry, far in the sky, I’m there?) will lead the sidebar jury at this year’s Zurich Focus Competition. Swiss documentary filmmaker Fred Bailiff (The family), Austrian filmmaker Katrina Muckstein (an animal), montage of the film Maria Fantastica Valmore (One more time before the breach) and Swiss journalist and media executive Roger Shavinsky will join Vachon on the Focus jury.
Romanian filmmaker Alexander Nanau, Oscar-nominated director collective (2019) co-curator of the Jury of the Zurich Documentary Competition writing with fire Directed by Sushmit Ghosh, edited by Athanas Georgiev (the land of honey), Swiss producer Joel Bertosa (sheep and men), and Nina Nurankadic is the director of the documentary festival group Doc Alliance.
Each jury will award a Golden Eye Award to the best film in their respective sections, each with a cash stipend of $26,000 (CHF 25,000). This year’s winners will be announced at the Zurich Film Festival awards ceremony at the Zurich Opera House on October 1.
