Lupine III Vs. Cat’s Eye – The trailer for the long-awaited anime crossover is here

Lupine III vs. Cat’s eyethe new crossover film that brings together the characters of two famous souls, was revealed in the first short teaser.

TMS announced on Thursday that it is working on a new anime film that will bring together two of the most notorious groups of professional heists. The long-awaited crossover is made with a renewed cel-shaded graphics and comes on the occasion of the anime’s 50th anniversary Lupine III and the 40th anniversary of the manga Cat’s eye born from the mind of Tsukasa Hojo, already known as the father of City Hunter. The anime film takes place during the 80s as we learned in the famous animated series that focuses on three brothers who run a cafe during the day and then become art thieves at night.

As the title suggests, the film will bring together two well-known groups of characters. The notorious gang formed by three elusive thieves once again aims to steal three paintings belonging to their father, with Lupine and his friends attempting the same blow. The paintings however will reveal a long-buried mystery.

The new anime at TMS Entertainment is directed by Kobun Shizuno and Hiroyuki Seshita, who previously co-directed the Knights of Sidonia anime and the Godzilla anime film trilogy. They will be joined by Keisuke Ide (Levius) as assistant director. Shūji Kuzuhara (Pazudora) wrote the script instead. Lupine III series music composer Yuji Ohno and Cat’s Eye series composer Kazuo Otani joined forces to create the film’s soundtrack. Haruhisa Nakata (original creator of Levius) and Junko Yamanaka (Kamisama Kiss, Kono Oto Tomare!: Sounds of Life) developed the character designs for the characters. Naoya Tanaka and Ferdinando Patulli are also credited for production design, while Mitsunori Kataama is the art director.
