Scientists have discovered that a popular vitamin among young people causes cancer – it can be found in dietary supplements and in cosmetics!

This vitamin is called the “lifeline” in anti-aging skincare. It is found in many cosmetics and supplements for the youth of the body. However, scientists have found that taking it may not be as safe and beneficial as commonly believed!

The market for health and beauty supplements is growing rapidly. Almost all women regularly take certain dietary supplements – or try to buy cosmetics enriched with useful microelements. However, some vitamins have a particularly effective effect on the skin, preserving youth and reducing inflammation.

Meanwhile, scientists are increasingly wary of taking vitamins on a regular basis. For example, a new study conducted by a research university in Colombia (USA) provides evidence that vitamin B3 can cause the development of brain and breast cancers.

Vitamin B3 (niacin, nicotinamide) is considered one of the most powerful ingredients in anti-aging cosmetics and products for acne-prone skin. It began to appear in compositions of beauty products relatively recently (less than 10 years ago) – but instantly won universal love due to its soothing, firming and brightening effect.

In addition, niacin is considered a useful component to prevent muscle aging and to improve brain function. This is why it is part of many dietary supplements.

As a result of a new study, scientists have discovered that once in the body, vitamin B3 is converted into nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, a coenzyme that supplies all cells in the body. Including cancer cells.

American scientists conducted a study on mice already suffering from cancer. Animals infected with brain and breast cancer cells were given a niacin supplement and observed as the substance was absorbed into the body. As a result, 9 out of 11 mice with oncology had more cancer cells. Meanwhile, in the group of mice not supplemented with B3, an increase in cancer cells was observed in only 3 out of 12 animals.

The researchers point out that the growth of cancer cells they have noticed requires further study of the effect of vitamin B3 and its derivatives on the body. Of course, in cosmetics, its content is insignificant – in comparison with supplements for oral administration. So for now, don’t panic and give up on your favorite beauty products. And drinking supplements without consulting a doctor is initially a bad idea. Above all, take care of your health. And everything will go just fine !
