How a woman does not smell like an “old woman”: 3 tips from doctors

As we age, our body changes, and so does its own scent. To avoid the appearance of a specific smell in mature years, simple rules should be followed.

Everyone knows this very particular “smell of old”. Almost never heard of anyone. Other people, on the contrary, suffer from too intense a smell.

Unfortunately, the appearance of a specific smell cannot be avoided: it appears in connection with changes in our body. It turns out that around the age of 40, the unsaturated aldehyde 2-Nonenal begins to be produced in the tissues of our body. With age, its concentration increases – and the same “smell of noble old age” begins to emanate from the skin.

To reduce the noise of such a “mature plume” of the skin, doctors advise people over 40 to pay more attention to their hygiene.

Brush your teeth well

In adulthood, saliva becomes more viscous. It is an ideal environment for the development of pathogenic microflora! Brush your teeth thoroughly at least twice a day, don’t skip rinsing and flossing. And if you wear dentures, remember to handle them with care.

More hygiene procedures

The decrease in social and physical activity and the possible lack of intimate life is not a reason to pay less attention to hygiene! Take a shower every day. Also, experts recommend using body moisturizers – to maintain a healthy skin balance.

Keep your clothes clean

Clothes mainly absorb odors from our skin – wearing underwear is therefore never superfluous. Also, do not put used clothes back in the closet with clean clothes: the fabrics will become saturated with different smells.

Of course, washing or not washing a thing after each use is a difficult question: especially when it comes to delicate fabrics. But it will certainly not be superfluous to air the worn out clothes on the balcony a little. Well, or at least leave it on a hanger in the room for a while.
