The Price of Glee: The 7 biggest revelations made in the Investigation Discovery documentary

Love glee (2013) is knowing that the series created by Ryan Murphy is haunted by several surprising tragedies. Former cast members like Chord Overstreet and Kevin McHale purposely chose “to have nothing to do” with the series.

1. Cory Monteith’s struggles with addiction began as a teenager

After the premiere of glee, Cory Monteith was concerned with maintaining a clean image. But while it may have been a secret to the public, the actor had no problem revealing his past to his close friends, according to pal Frederic Robinson.

4. The cast competed for the most followers on social media

As the show became a hit, social media boomed, and Glee’s stars were on the verge of dominating the emerging platforms – but the competition wasn’t always friendly. Dugg Kirkpatrickhead of season 3’s hair department, pointed out that the actors’ follower count allowed them to “track who fans really like”.

5. Cory reportedly relapsed after another cast member persuaded him to drink

The head of the hair department, kirkpatrick, recalled one of the last times he saw Monteith and the troubling story the actor allegedly told him during a haircut. Kirkpatrick said he noticed the star was “different” and “under the influence of alcohol”.

“He said he was at a party and he hadn’t been drinking and he wanted to drink but he knew he shouldn’t,” he continued. “And a certain cast member said to him that same night, ‘You know, if you want to have a drink, you should have a drink. I’ll be here, you can always trust me to be here for you.'”

It confused him and kind of drove him crazy. But he did – he started drinking. Because he got permission from someone he loved.”

6. There have been a number of deaths on the ‘Glee’ crew as well.

Although the deaths of Monteith, Rivera and Salling are by far the most publicized of all tragedies related to gleecrew members recalled in the documentary how co-workers on set died during the show.

This includes the assistant director Jim Fuller, who died of a heart attack; the production assistant Nancy Motes, who died by suicide; and Matthew Morrison’s replacement, Mark Watsonwho died in a “car fire,” according to Rivera’s replacement, Jodi Tanaka.
