7 “healthy” habits you shouldn’t expect anything good from

Some can be not only harmful, but even dangerous!

Are you following the diet, giving up bad habits and eating only fresh seasonal dishes? Hooray, you’re doing a good job with the laws of healthy living, but that’s not enough. We’ve compiled a list of “healthy” habits that are actually harmful and even dangerous.

Do not take care! In our articles, we collect the latest scientific data and the opinions of authoritative health experts. But remember: only a doctor can diagnose and prescribe treatment.

Prioritize low-fat foods

Completely eliminated the fat from your life? Sit down, two. Our body needs unsaturated fats to function properly. And their main source is vegetable oil. Be sure to add it to salads in small amounts. And don’t forget about other foods high in healthy fats. The leaders in usefulness are avocados, natural cheese, fatty fish and nuts.

Use sunscreen

Let’s try to understand. Yes, sunscreen is essential to protect your skin from ultraviolet rays and should be applied to all exposed areas, not just the face. But there is one thing – the quality of sunscreen. Some manufacturers still add chemicals that are too harsh and harmful to their sunscreens. After such cosmetics, even insensitive skin will revolt. Before buying, carefully study the composition and bet on mineral sunscreens.

clean the ears

“Ears should be kept clean” is a truth that is hard to argue with. But some take the advice too literally. Remember: sulfur is there for a reason. Its main function is to protect the ears from dirt and dust. It should be in moderation. It is not necessary to actively clean the ear canals every day, especially with cotton swabs, which can damage hearing.

Give up gluten

The only time you have to give up gluten is when you have celiac disease (a disease in which the body cannot absorb gluten). Research has proven that cutting out gluten is not an effective way to lose weight. It is better to give up the “bad” carbohydrates.

Switching from sugar to sugar substitutes

Stay away from sugar-free foods and drinks. Several large studies have confirmed that the use of sweeteners increases the risk of obesity, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and even certain forms of cancer. Do not think that replacing sugar with honey or fructose is as safe as possible for the body and figure. According to research, these products practically also affect the metabolism and the functioning of the endocrine system.

Refuse carbohydrates

Another harmful myth: to lose weight, you have to completely give up carbohydrates. The human body simply needs daily servings of carbohydrate foods for a healthy existence. Otherwise, you will constantly feel tired, because there is nowhere to draw energy from. And another important note: carbohydrates should be complex and healthy. Their main sources are whole grains, vegetables and legumes.

Sleep on weekends

You can’t sleep all week and move on. The body doesn’t work like that. If you choose to stay in bed all weekend, you will further disrupt your circadian rhythms. The optimal amount of sleep per day is 8-9 hours. Do not work? Then get up on the weekends a little later – literally 2-3 hours.

Exercise every day

We agree that exercise is an important part of a healthy lifestyle. But it’s one thing to walk every day in the evening and stand at the bar, and it’s another thing to spend two hours a day training intensely. Such a diet will not benefit either health or figure, since the body needs time to recover. The optimal frequency of intense physical activity is 3 times a week.

On other days, you can go swimming, repeat yoga poses or do stretching complexes at home.
