With a 20-year career and seven Latin Grammys on his shelf, he could relax. But no. Fonseca presents “Viajante”, his ninth album. And especially “Pasa”, the single and the video written by the artist himself with Mauricio Rengifo and Andrés Torres, also produced by Mauricio and Andrés, with the participation of Matisse (Melissa, Pablo and Roman); one of the most recognized Mexican pop music bands of the moment.
In “Viajante”, Fonseca presents his music through different landscapes and stories with a total of 10 songs and comments on it: “The title of the song stems from this thought of David Remartínez that I encountered while thinking of the realization of this new production. and this 20-year career trajectory and said message said: ‘There are travelers, travelers and tourists,’ he said.
And he adds: “The traveler travels to get to know himself and perhaps get tired of himself. He wants to observe others, stand in front of a different landscape and check if something hits him or falls. The traveler himself travels whole, transported wherever he is just as he is. The traveler returns as he left: to be exactly the same.
The clip for the single “Pasa”, meanwhile, was shot in Mexico under the direction of Andres Ibáñez.
And about his collaboration with Matisse, Fonseca said: “I love Matisse’s music and it’s a luxury that we make this song together. They put their stamp on ‘Pasa’ and poured their hearts into it while singing it. This It’s a song that, although it’s about heartache and spite, has hope.”
