European sales group Beta Cinema has closed several deals how to please a womanBritish comedy starring Sally Phillips (vet, Bridget Jones blog) Before the film market screening in Cannes later this month.
Brainstorm Media has won all North American rights to a film in which Phillips plays a 50-year-old woman who runs a domestic cleaning service involving sexy janitors who offer “extra perks” to her clients. Brainstorm plans to present a film in the United States on July 22nd.
“We love this movie because of the way we think most people will see it,” said Michelle Schwarzstein, head of Brainstorm Media Distribution. “This film manages to tackle the most ridiculous and honestly taboo subject. “People will be smiling.”
In other deals, Sky took all UK rights, Mongrel Media recorded for Canada, Monolith Films for Poland, and Madmen Entertainment secured the rights in Australia and New Zealand. Madmen is planning a wide theatrical release how to please a woman May 19 in Australia and May 26 in New Zealand.
“Australian and New Zealand exhibitions support this delightful comedy about female sexuality and vulnerability,” said Paul Wiggard, CEO of Madmen. “More than 300 screens have already been confirmed; The film offers a fun night out for girls, themes of empowerment and fun with the first audience.”

The beta film will be shown to buyers in Cannes on May 19.
