Spanish public broadcaster RTVE is reviving the comedy panel show "Me Resbala" for its main channel, La 1, with comedian Yolanda Ramos taking over as host of the format's third era on Spanish television.
RTVE has acquired the rights to the show after it aired previously on Atresmedia and Mediaset. Ramos becomes the third presenter in the history of "Me Resbala," following Arturo Valls, who hosted it on Antena 3, and Lara Álvarez, who fronted it on Telecinco.
What is 'Me Resbala'
"Me Resbala" is one of the most recognised comedy formats on Spanish television over the past decade. The show brings together eight of the country's leading comedians and puts their improvisational and comic skills to the test, producing moments that have stayed in viewers' memories.
The programme enjoyed a successful first run on Atresmedia before moving to Mediaset for a second period that did not match the popularity of the original. On Telecinco, hosted by Lara Álvarez, the show was cancelled after a single season of nine episodes.
New season delayed until 2027
According to YOTELE, the entertainment section of El Periódico, pre-production work on the new season has begun in recent weeks. Filming is expected to start once the summer period ends, during the autumn months, meaning the new season of "Me Resbala" will not reach screens until 2027.
El Periódico journalist Ricky García noted that this will be Yolanda Ramos's second job as a mistress of ceremonies for a television format. She previously hosted "Hable con ellas," a late-night show on Telecinco, alongside Sandra Barneda, Natalia Millán and Beatriz Montañez.
It remains to be seen in 2027 whether this third life of "Me Resbala" will echo its successful first run on Antena 3 or its second, which was cancelled by Telecinco after only nine episodes.
