Yura Borisov Says Filming ‘Battle of Motors’ Was ‘a Little Life’

Russian actor Yuri Borisov said filming the upcoming movie Battle of Motors felt like living a small life, describing the shoot as packed with travel and adventure.

Speaking on Match TV, Borisov said the cast covered a great number of locations and went through a whole lot of adventures, adding that there was too much to recount quickly.

The film is inspired by the real story of Andrei Nagel, an early 20th-century pioneer of Russian car manufacturing who led the development of the first Russo-Balt automobiles. Ivan Yankovskiy plays Nagel, while Borisov plays engineer Dmitry Bondarev.

Yankovskiy said the entire crew was determined to portray the atmosphere of the real history as accurately and honestly as possible, including actually building the cars and placing the actors inside them.

On Saturday, Borisov and Yankovskiy took part in a race of vintage replica cars at the Moscow Raceway circuit near Moscow, launching the fourth stage of the Russian Endurance Championship.

Battle of Motors is set for nationwide release on October 8.
