An actor in China has accused a wealthy woman who financed a television series of sexual harassment, according to TVBS News.
The woman contacted director Meng Xin and offered to fund a 50-episode microdrama. She immediately insisted that 23-year-old actor Zhong Yufei play the lead male role opposite her as the lead female role, and demanded the series include 60 kissing scenes between the two main characters.
Actor describes on-set harassment
Yufei said that as soon as filming began, the financier kissed him repeatedly, using tongue during every take. He said she also kept deviating from the script, at one point sitting on his lap. When he objected, she reportedly threw tantrums and threatened to withhold the crew's pay.
Dispute over payment
Director Xin said that after filming wrapped, the distributor decided there were too many kissing scenes and cut 20 of them. The financier was unhappy with the changes and refused to pay the remaining 30,000 yuan, about 360,000 rubles, owed to the crew. Xin then decided to make the situation public.
