British crime miniseries Agatha Christie: Murder is Easy is available on Movistar Plus+, bringing a three-episode adaptation starring David Jonsson to streaming viewers.
The single-season thriller consists of three one-hour episodes, offering a complete three-hour storyline designed for a single viewing session.
Set in England in 1954, the narrative follows Luke Fitzwilliam, a young and ambitious man who arrives in Great Britain from his native Nigeria with the promise of a job in Whitehall. During a train journey to London, Fitzwilliam meets an elderly fellow passenger named Miss Pinkerton.
Whitehall serves as the traditional centre of the British civil service and government administration in London. Nigeria was under British colonial rule during the mid-twentieth century prior to achieving national independence in 1960. Author Dame Agatha Christie is internationally renowned as one of the most prolific crime fiction writers in history, famous for inventing iconic literary sleuths.

Train journey and village murders
During their train conversation, Miss Pinkerton confides to Fitzwilliam that a killer is on the loose in her home village of Wychwood-Under-Ashe. She tells him that three murders have already taken place in the community and explains that she is travelling to Scotland Yard in London to inform the police.
Her mission is cut short when both passengers alight from the train. Miss Pinkerton is mysteriously murdered before she can reach the police headquarters. Left in shock by the sudden death, Fitzwilliam decides to travel directly to Wychwood-Under-Ashe to uncover answers surrounding the mysterious killings.
Finding the truth proves difficult as Fitzwilliam encounters a tense local population. The residents of Wychwood-Under-Ashe consider the deaths to be simple accidents rather than crimes. The investigation is further complicated because Fitzwilliam is a Black man in a rural 1950s English town, generating suspicion among townspeople who are simultaneously potential suspects and potential victims.
Scotland Yard is the headquarters of London's Metropolitan Police Service, historically responsible for high-profile criminal investigations across the United Kingdom. Rural English villages were frequently featured as central settings in golden age detective fiction, contrasting quiet country life with hidden secrets.
Adaptation and production details
The miniseries is based on the 1939 novel Murder is Easy written by Agatha Christie. The screen adaptation was executive produced by James Prichard, who is the great-grandson of the celebrated author.
