Spanish television personality Aída Nízar has caught an alleged pickpocket inside a Primark store on Gran Vía in central Madrid and accused the woman of stealing a limited edition Montblanc fountain pen valued at up to 10,000 euros.
Nízar claimed she apprehended the woman red-handed during a shopping trip in the Spanish capital before reporting the incident to police and taking the matter to court.

The former reality television contestant said the theft took place as she was browsing for clothing bargains to combine with her high-end designer wardrobe. She realized her handbag was being targeted on the suspect's second attempt to reach inside.
According to Nízar, the alleged thief managed to steal a collector's item fountain pen from her personal collection. Nízar said she originally purchased the Montblanc pen for 4,800 euros, but estimated its current value at 10,000 euros due to its limited-edition status.
Mafia claims and court appearance
Speaking in a remote interview with the Antena 3 television program Y ahora Sonsoles while aboard a boat, Nízar described the suspect as the alleged leader of a Bulgarian pickpocket organization operating in Madrid. She proudly claimed personal responsibility for capturing the woman.
Nízar said she felt indignation and frustration during the encounter, adding that onlookers and fans who witnessed the confrontation failed to intervene because they believed the incident was part of a staged performance.
The case has since reached a judge in Madrid. During court proceedings, the accused woman denied all allegations of theft, declaring that she was simply visiting Spain on holiday. The suspect stated in court that she had no intention of stealing and claimed she was merely drawn to Nízar's fragrance, beauty, and elegant appearance.
Celebrity background and safety advice
Nízar is widely known in Spain as a media personality and former reality television participant who frequently showcases a luxury lifestyle on social media. She recently posted a viral video detailing the incident after previously making headlines for complaining about a lack of ketchup during a visit to a fast-food outlet.
Following the incident, Nízar urged members of the public to stand up to thieves and confront pickpockets directly rather than being intimidated. However, law enforcement authorities recommend that victims avoid confronting suspects and instead immediately report any thefts to the police to prevent physical harm.
