Anna Vissi has given her followers a first taste of her new song "Ohi Giati" ("Not Because"), posting a video on Instagram in which she sings the track and dances to its beat.
The clip, shared on Friday, September 4, 2026, shows a song with a strong rhythm, with Vissi appearing alongside collaborators, singing and dancing a tsifteteli. She captioned the video with the short phrase "Why not," giving fans their first full glimpse of the new track.
Who wrote the song
The music and lyrics are credited to Nikos Karvelas, while production was handled by Alex Papaconstantinou and Viktor Svensson. Karvelas is a longtime songwriter and producer closely associated with Vissi's career, having written many of her best known hits over the decades. The tsifteteli is a popular solo dance rhythm found across Greek and eastern Mediterranean music, often performed with hip and torso movements.
The lyrics revealed in the clip
In the video, Vissi sings a characteristic excerpt from the new song, with lyrics describing a relationship that defies logic and is tied to feelings of security, love and intense attraction. The lines describe a partner who has never lied and who pays the electricity and phone bills, who takes her to seventh heaven and whose absence leaves her feeling like she is falling into a void. Other lines describe feeling secure close to him and kisses that drip with fire, concluding that it is not only because his love is real but because of something beyond all logic.
Fan reaction
Vissi does not only sing the excerpt but dances along with it, with the video capturing her and her collaborators in a relaxed moment. The post quickly drew comments and likes from her online followers, several of whom wrote to Vissi that they liked the new song.
