She cried with laughter and could not eat: what the girl experienced after the operation to correct the bite

Surgical bite correction is a complex but extremely effective way to eliminate jaw and facial asymmetry problems. This Russian woman survived a similar operation and honestly told how many tries it cost her.

Tyumen resident Anna (@this.is.anya) opened up about her experience of performing an osteotomy (bite correction surgery) on social media. The girl showed how her appearance had changed in six months – and shared the snapshots taken during the painful rehabilitation.

“At first, of course, it was difficult. Swelling, headache, weakness – it was very difficult to perceive my appearance after the operation. But a week later, I was quite pretty,” says Anna.

According to the Russian woman, in the first months after the operation she lost 5 kilograms – just because she could not eat normally. After an osteotomy, you need to sit on a liquid diet for a long time, since the usual load on the jaw is impossible.

“Did you know you were crying because I couldn’t even eat something decent and liquid!” In addition, it also hurt me to tears of laughter, and at first many did not perceive my speech, they constantly asked me what I was saying, ”shares the girl.

Six months after the operation, it is still too early to speak of a full recovery. According to Anna, she still has sensitivity issues and isn’t fully in control of her speech and facial expressions – but she can’t help but rejoice at her new reflection in the mirror.
