What do rings of fire look like: the most popular sign of a poor quality manicure

A high-quality manicure is not just a beautiful design and evenly filed nail tips. It is much more important to process the skin around the nail plate and cuticles: so that the hands look neat and there are no traces of smudges.

Perhaps working with the cuticle can be called one of the most difficult stages of manicure. When cutting, cutting or moving it, you can not only hurt the client’s hands, but also spoil the nail plate, leaving the so-called “rings of fire” on it.

Rings of fire appear due to too much pressure from the bur or a tool for mechanical removal of the cuticle, as well as due to the wrong angle of the file. Such actions give a quick and clean result – but imperceptibly for the masters themselves, they injure the nail area that has not yet reached the visible area.

Unfortunately, it is impossible to restore a nail with a “fire mark”. But it is also not worth dramatizing the presence of such an imperfection – after all, over time it will simply grow back.

In most cases, rings of fire are just a cosmetic issue. If you prefer a natural manicure without coating, red streaks and small bumps on your nails will catch your eye and remind you of a failed manicure session. In other situations, the imperfection will hide behind the gel polish, however, note that if the previous visit to the nail salon left marks that were too deep at the base of the nail, consider going to another specialist. Perhaps this nail artist has not yet worked with too thick cuticles or, conversely, too thin a nail plate – and you need someone more experienced.
