How to Dry Long Thick Hair Quickly: Life Hacks from Stylists

What to do so that drying hair does not take so long? Here are some hair tips to help you!

“Excess sebum on the skin not only makes it difficult to wash the hair, but also does not allow the hair to dry quickly,” says hairstylist Diana Pratasevich Barnao. Before water procedures, she advises using a scrub or chemical peel to gently remove dead skin cells and sebum from the scalp.

Barnao also recommends not forgetting the conditioner and giving preference to one that contains silicones. “They act as an anti-humidifier, repelling water in the final rinse, helping your hair dry faster,” says Diane.

Hairstylist Jonathan Van Ness reminds you that after washing your hair, you absolutely must get rid of excess liquid. However, you shouldn’t twist or wring your hair – instead run your closed palms over the strands, as if you’re squeezing water out of it.

The more there are, the longer the hair dries: many cosmetic products contain moisturizers that retain liquid molecules.

It’s good for the body, but it only ruins the hair. Van Ness advises replacing a terry towel with a microfiber towel or an ordinary old T-shirt – if you blot your locks with such a cloth, they will dry faster.

Perhaps there is a mirror in front of which you prefer to paint. However, it’s always best to take a break and leave the room with humid air, and apply makeup after the hair is dry.

Hotter does not mean faster, and what is more important is the blowing power of the hair dryer – it is better to choose a gadget with a power of 1800 watts or more, says Van Ness. Hairdresser Venella Charmarty advises to pay attention to the ionization function: the negative ions emitted by the device break the water into small particles which evaporate more quickly.
