Dry skin on the legs is the Achilles heel of many girls.
Often, only these areas are problematic. The fact is that, firstly, the epidermis of the feet contains an additional layer, called stratum lucidum, which makes the skin of the legs thicker, and secondly, there are no sebaceous glands or hair follicles on the soles of the feet, and less lubrication, the higher the risk of roughness.
If your heels are cracked and unsightly, it’s easy to fix: here’s what the experts advise you to do.
First step: a warm water and salt bath
Orthopedic surgeon Suzanne Levin advises starting the rescue of Private Heel with a hot bath. Make sure the water is not too hot – this will only dry out the skin even more. Add half a glass of Epsom salt to the water – after that, the skin will absorb the moisturizer better.
Second step: mechanical peeling
New York dermatologist Hadley King advises combining mechanical and chemical exfoliation and starting first. Under no circumstances should you use a razor to get rid of calluses – instead use a pumice stone, pedicure rasp or foot scrub.

Third step: chemical peel
According to dermatologist Ramya Garlapti, it is better to choose products containing salicylic acid, urea or lactic acid. “These exfoliants help loosen the bonds between skin cells, allowing them to gently flake off,” Ramya says.
