Karen Boyle, a 56-year-old cosmetologist, has noticed that many Muslim women refuse manicures. The reason is that they have to perform the ritual wudu ablutions, which are a prerequisite for performing prayer, tawaf or touching the Quran. If at such a time there is varnish on the nails, the water cannot clean them, which makes the ablution “invalid”.

A client showed Boyle the pieces she had seen on the internet, but they were shiny, ornately jeweled rings, not imitation manicures. Boyle decided to develop her own version and began to experiment: for a long time she chose the right thickness of wire to attach the spikes to, and in the end she created the perfect set.
Nail rings sit firmly on the fingers, creating the illusion of ordinary painted nails, however, unlike acrylic overlays, Boyle’s invention can be removed at any time. Karen first tested her idea on friends and clients, and when they said they liked everything, she started selling “marigolds.”
Recently, Boyle was asked to make a luxurious pair of silver – the client is going to wear rings in Dubai on vacation. After that, Karen started offering different metals as an option. The woman believes that her invention will be useful not only for Muslim women, but also, for example, for medical workers, as well as for girls who want to save money, because you can use the rings several times by changing the tips on them .
