Why you can’t wear a film pedicure for a long time: the hidden danger of a new technique

The filmed pedicure quickly burst into the nail industry and allowed thousands of women to forget about previous problems with their feet: when, due to gel polish allergies, injuries, bruises or ingrown nails, it is not possible to make a beautiful coating.

The film technique allows you to achieve a brilliant artistic manicure or pedicure without using resistant varnishes and UV lamps – we talked about this technique in more detail here.

Another advantageous nuance of the film coating is its durability. With films, the pedicure looks fresh even a month after the procedure. And some wear the same design for 6-8 weeks!

However, nail masters warn their clients not to wear the same films on their legs for too long. It’s not about the films themselves, it’s about nail growth. When they become long, the pressure on the nail plate changes. Because of this, the risk of accidentally catching a nail on something and injuring yourself increases.

It is especially dangerous not to update the pedicure film for a long time when wearing closed shoes. In such a situation, the pressure on the nail plate increases significantly. Due to this, a subungual hematoma may develop, and you will have to forget about a nice pedicure for several months.

You can also prevent such problems without going to the salon if you regularly file the free edge of the nail. And yet, you should not take too long breaks between professional pedicure sessions. The health of your feet depends on it!
