Why American Women Don’t Use BB Cream – and Don’t Realize Its Popularity Around the World

The first BB cream appeared in the late 1960s – it was used to mask the skin after plastic surgery. Over time, the formula of this light tinting agent has changed a lot and has become accessible to as many people as possible. So, at the end of the “zero”, BB-cream appeared in cosmetic stores – and instantly became a bestseller all over the world.

Of course, BB creams are more in demand in the Asian market. Korean brands regularly release new formulas for this product, enriching it with SPF filters, antioxidants, peptides and developing comfortable textures for all skin types. And yet, we have no doubt that in your makeup bag too there was at least once a tube of BB or CC cream. Especially in summer, when you want to make up more weightless.

The reason for such an “aversion” of American women for BB-cream is simple: it seems to them to be ineffective.

The fact is that American women love active makeup: with bright accents, a thick tone from the sculptor (hello, Kim Kardashian!) and a dense tone on the skin that hides all the imperfections. It is easier for them to completely abandon the tone than to apply a translucent BB cream on their face, which will not give the desired “clean” effect.

American women are sure that there is nothing better than a mattifying foundation – which will mask the problems and prevent the appearance of greasy highlights. And to make the face more alive, the sculptor and the illuminator are identical: the more, the better.
