Brad Pitt's Postmates prank

During a speech to the audience, Pitt told a story about a recent encounter with a delivery driver. He said that when he answered his front door for a Postmates order, the driver told him he looked familiar.

Pitt assumed the driver had recognised him, but the driver then asked for his name. Pitt paused before telling him his name was Matt Damon, before revealing the prank to laughter from the crowd.

The star said when he was picking up his Postmates delivery at his front door, the driver said he knew him from somewhere

Pitt and Damon have been friends for many years and have appeared together in the Ocean's Eleven heist franchise, which also stars George Clooney and Julia Roberts.

Fox Sports mixed up Pitt and Damon at the World Cup

The joke echoed a real mix-up involving the two actors at the 2026 FIFA World Cup final in July. Damon was in the crowd with his wife, Luciana Barroso, at the final between Spain and Argentina on July 19 when Fox Sports announcer John Strong mistakenly told viewers, "Brad Pitt is also among the fans here."

This comes after a Fox Sports commentator accidentally identified Damon as his pal Pitt live on air during the 2026 FIFA World Cup final in July; Damon at the event with his wife

Strong corrected himself moments later to say it was actually Damon, blaming the error on glare on the broadcast monitors.

Netflix unveils title for Hollywood sequel

Pitt's Colorado appearance came shortly after Netflix announced the title of his upcoming follow-up to Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. The film will be called The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth, with Pitt reprising his Academy Award-winning role as stuntman Cliff Booth.

Netflix said the story is set in 1977, describing it as taking place in "a very different Hollywood" from the one seen in the 2019 original.

The film is set for a two-week IMAX release worldwide from November 25 before arriving on Netflix on December 23.

Tarantino's script, Fincher in the chair

Quentin Tarantino, the director behind Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill who also directed the 2019 original, wrote the script for the sequel, which is set eight years after the first film. David Fincher, known for directing Se7en, Fight Club and The Social Network, will take over as director.

The cast includes Elizabeth Debicki, Scott Caan, Carla Gugino, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Peter Weller, Matt Groove, JB Tadena, Corey Fogelmanis and Karren Karagulian.

Tarantino, who has said he intends to retire after directing ten films, explained on The Church of Tarantino podcast why he stepped back from directing the sequel himself. "I love this script, but I'm still walking down the same ground I've already walked," he said. "It just kind of unenthused me. This last movie, I've got to not know what I'm doing again. I've got to be in uncharted territory."

He added that he felt honoured Fincher wanted to take on the project. "I think me and David Fincher are the two best directors. So the idea that David Fincher actually wants to adapt my work, to me, shows a level of seriousness towards my work that I think needs to be taken into account," he said.

Pitt and Fincher reunite

Speaking to Deadline at the premiere of his film F1, Pitt described the project as "an episode, not really a sequel" to Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. "He didn't want to direct it at this point, so our friend David Fincher stepped in. We're gonna start in July, it's gonna be really fun," Pitt said.

The sequel marks another collaboration between Pitt and Fincher, both 62, who previously worked together on Se7en, Fight Club and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

In the original Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, Pitt starred alongside Leonardo DiCaprio as fading actor Rick Dalton and his loyal stunt double Cliff Booth, who struggle to stay relevant in a changing film industry while crossing paths with rising star Sharon Tate, played by Margot Robbie, amid the looming threat of the Manson Family.
