Brooklyn Beckham and his wife Nicola Peltz documented a weekend getaway at his godfather Elton John's £15million villa in Nice on the French Riviera. The aspiring chef, 27, and Peltz posted photos to their Instagram accounts minutes apart on Monday to share details of their stay at the Castel Mont-Alban estate.
Instead of joining his family's annual getaway on their £16million luxury yacht Seven, Beckham has been staying on the musician's yacht and relaxing at the Belle Epoque villa. During the visit, Peltz posed for garden selfies in a white minidress, while Beckham larked around on the grass.
The couple dressed up for a balcony dinner with John and joined him for a sundeck luncheon. John frequently spends summer months at the property overlooking Nice alongside his husband David Furnish and their two sons, Zachary, 15, and Elijah, 13. The estate previously hosted Beckham's parents, David and Victoria Beckham.
Near miss in St Tropez
The getaway occurred as Beckham and Peltz narrowly missed David and Victoria in nearby St Tropez, located 75 miles away. Earlier in the day, Beckham stepped out for ice cream at the Barbarac ice-cream parlour in the town.
Victoria and David were seen on their yacht in St Tropez before enjoying lunch at the Cherry Restaurant, situated five minutes away from the ice-cream shop. Beckham and Peltz appeared laid-back and happy during the trip, seemingly unaware of their close proximity to his parents.
During the outing, David appeared deep in thought as he wrapped his arm around his son Romeo. Prior to reaching St Tropez, David and Victoria toured different parts of the Balearic Islands with Romeo on their luxury yacht.
David and Victoria recently followed the FIFA World Cup 2026 across the United States with their family. The group included Romeo and his girlfriend Kim Turnbull, 24, along with Harper, Cruz, 21, and his girlfriend Jackie Apostel, 30.
The Beckhams and John have been friends for more than 30 years, with David affectionately calling the singer Uncle Elton after establishing their bond during his football career. However, John appeared to pledge an allegiance to Beckham and Peltz during their sundeck meal.
Strained family relationships
Christmas 2024 marked the last time the Beckham family was pictured with Beckham and Peltz before all communication ceased. Despite residing across the pond in the United States, Beckham has avoided all family gatherings.
In January, Beckham released a scathing six-page statement denouncing his parents and declaring that he was no longer part of Brand Beckham. He claimed that David and Victoria had controlled him for much of his life and attempted to drive a wedge between him and Peltz.
Beckham further stated that he felt embarrassed when his mother danced inappropriately with him during the first dance at his wedding. He has not acknowledged any of his parents' birthdays or milestones publicly since the rift began around David's 50th celebrations, and he failed to post for Father's Day this year.
Reports previously noted that Beckham was furious when his parents included him in a Father's Day post, demanding they leave him alone. Shortly before Christmas last year, Beckham blocked his parents on Instagram, while his lawyers wrote to the Beckhams' team requesting all future communication take place through legal representatives. The Daily Mail contacted Beckham's representatives for comment at the time.
Commercial backlash and public controversy
Earlier this year, Beckham was accused of selling out his family for a large sum following the release of a two-part DoorDash commercial. Five months after declaring that he and Peltz desired privacy, fans savaged Beckham as classless for collaborating with the food delivery firm on a sponsored video.
In a teaser clip released on June 15 for the advertisement, Beckham smirks and says he is watching the FIFA World Cup 2026 from home, adding that it is a long story. The line was interpreted as mocking David and Victoria, with friends of the Beckhams reporting that the couple was left devastated and inconsolable by the jibe.
