Lima Duarte runs over and drags a motorcyclist down an avenue in SP

The 92-year veteran released a statement saying he provided help to the woman; the victim is hospitalized

The actor Lima Duarte was involved in an accident with a motorcyclist last Friday, 3, in San Paolo (SP). He crashed his car into a motorcycle while traveling on Avenida Antarctica and the woman driving the vehicle sustained injuries to her legs and arms.

After images of her in the hospital circulated on social media, the 92-year-old veteran actor released a press release, saying he immediately provided the woman with the help she needed. “While I was driving my car, I was involved in an accident with a motorcycle. After the collision, I immediately gave the necessary assistance to the motorcyclist and waited for the arrival of the police,” he explained.

The artist added that his priority was to ensure that the rider received the necessary assistance and “that the situation was treated as seriously as possible”.

“I would like to underline that I am a conscientious and responsible driver, as I have been! I always try to respect the rules of the road and give priority to traffic safety. I am deeply sorry for what happened and I am available to help with the investigation and provide further clarifications, if necessary,” he concluded.

According to the victim, identified as Simone, the actor hit her with a black car and dragged her onto the asphalt. In an interview with the newspaper The dayhe said Lima Duarte told a completely different story to police for not taking responsibility for the crash.

“As I lay on the ground, I heard him tell a completely opposite story, saying that I had gone with the motorcycle on top of me, and every report proves that he hit my motorcycle and dragged it away. Many people have seen this, but everyone left, because they were at the bus stop and went their own way. There was no one by my side to help me. Even the people closest to me were more concerned about taking a picture with him” , he said.

Simone broke five bones in his hip in the collision and is awaiting surgery. “I just don’t know when I’ll do it. There’s nothing planned,” he concluded.
