Kevin Costner faces second divorce after losing $80 million in first

American actor Kevin Costner (“Yellowstone”) is going through his second divorce after his wife, Christine, filed for separation in US court on Monday (1/5). The couple has been together for 18 years.

According to Christine, the couple split due to “irreconcilable differences,” but there is no further information on the breakup. The actor’s reps released an official statement: “It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have led Mr. Costner to participate in action to dissolve his marriage. We ask that your privacy, as well as that of Christine and the children, be protected, preserved in this difficult time.”

In 1991, the actor left his first marriage with a million-dollar loss, when he split from Cindy Silva in one of the most expensive divorces in Hollywood, according to Forbes magazine. At the time, Cindy took about $80 million from the estate of Costner, who had starred in blockbuster movies during her marriage. The couple remained together for 16 years.

Kevin Costner and Christine Baumgartner were married in 2005 and, in the separation, have asked for joint custody of their three children, aged 12, 14 and 15 years.
