Keanu Reeves’ rock band Dogstar have returned to rehearsals 21 years after their last concert. The musicians will perform May 27 at the BottleRock Napa Valley music festival, where they will play songs from an unreleased album, which will be released soon. The actor is the bassist of the group, which also includes guitarist and singer Bret Domrose and drummer Rob Mailhouse.
The musicians had already talked about the meeting and the new songs on their social networks, but the news was only officially announced this Wednesday (5/10).
Dogstar was formed in the mid-1990s, during the explosion of grunge rock, and lasted until 2002. Throughout his career, he has released the EP “Quattro Formaggi” and the albums “Our Little Visionary” and “Happy Ending”, which includes a version of the Carpenters’ song “Superstar”.
At the time, the group played several shows across the US and at international festivals, including Glastonbury in the UK. The musicians have also opened for David Bowie and Bon Jovi. Their last performance was in 2002 in Japan before they disbanded.
