Singer Adriana Calcanhotto, 57, paid tribute to Gal Costa during a show Thursday night, 11. With tour Gal: Holy things remainAdriana took the stage at the Tokio Marine Hall, in São Paulo, where she sang the hits of Gal, who died in November last year, and at one point left her breasts on display.
The homage to her bare breasts alludes to an emblematic moment in Gal Costa’s career, when in 1994 she showed her breasts while singing the song Brasil, by Cazuza, as a form of political protest, since at the time the Brazil experienced the second presidential election after the 1988 Constituent Assembly.
In addition to singing Gal Costa’s hits, Adriana Calcanhotto also paid tribute to Rita Lee during the performance.
