Here is the spark! How Kate Winslet found her millionaire husband in a fire

If there was a contest for the most unusual place to meet your soul mate, we’d give the win to Kate Winslet.

In 2012, Titanic star Kate Winslet married millionaire Ned Rocknroll. And the story of their acquaintance is fire! In the true sense of the word.

When these two saw each other, everything around was on fire – and not at all with passion. Luxurious villas on the private island of Necker, owned by billionaire Richard Branson, were on fire.

In 2011, Kate came to the resort at the invitation of Branson himself to relax with their children, Mia and Joe, and Ned, the owner’s nephew, also spent time there. One night a hurricane hit the island and as a result of a lightning strike the buildings caught fire.

Kate helped Branson’s elderly mother down the stairs, then rushed out of the house herself, grabbing the children, a bra and a passport. Along the way, she met Ned, who, it seems, was a little better prepared to survive the disaster – he had a headlamp.

“He was the only guy who had a headlamp and a pair of shoes, everyone left everything in the house. So I married him! I thought, ‘Well, you can count on the guy with the flashlight.”

The couple played the wedding shortly after they met, and a year after the celebration they had a son, Bear.

And the spark in Ned and Kate’s relationship is clearly still not extinguished! Fortunately, this fire is no longer dangerous.
