Ingrid Ohara underwent six plastic surgeries at the same time: what are the risks?

Influencer Ingrid Ohara’s recent decision to perform six cosmetic surgeries in one operation has reignited a major debate about the safety limits of combined plastic surgeries. Among the procedures performed are: Lipo Ultra HD 360, gluteal fat grafting, breast implants, rib contouring, nymphoplasty and umbilical hernioplasty.

On social media, Ingrid told her followers that her initial intention was to only have liposuction on her arms, but she eventually expanded her plans. “My first encounter was simply with lipo on my arms. I have gained and lost weight a few times in my life and I have become flabby. I train, I eat well, but there was a phase in which I gained 20 kilos, then I lost weight and this left some marks. This year I lost a lot of fat and I had no breasts at all. Then one thing led to another”, said the influencer who has more than 12 million followers on Instagram.

While each of the procedures Ingrid performs is relatively common in isolation, experts warn of the risks of combining multiple techniques into a single surgical session. Plastic surgeon Dr. Chreichi L. Oliveira explains that the practice may be indicated in specific cases, but requires detailed planning and an experienced team.

“Among the benefits are the ability to achieve a more complete body transformation in less time, reducing the number of hospital stays, anesthesia and time away from daily activities. For some patients, this means convenience and even savings in the process,” says the doctor.

On the other hand, the risks increase in proportion to the complexity of the intervention.

“Prolonged surgeries overload the body, increasing the risk of complications such as bleeding, infections, thrombosis and even serious anesthetic complications. Furthermore, recovery becomes more complex, as several areas of the body must heal at the same time,” he warns.

Another determining factor is safe surgical time. “Every additional minute on the operating table increases the risk for the patient. Therefore, the recommendation to combine procedures must be carefully considered and never based solely on the desire for quick results,” emphasizes the specialist.

Individual assessment is essential

According to Dr. Chreichi, there is no set protocol that defines when it is safe to combine procedures. The decision must take into account the patient’s general state of health, pre-operative examinations, physical and emotional profile and, above all, the experience of the medical team.

“If well planned and in selected cases, some combinations of surgical interventions can be safe. What cannot happen is to trivialize the practice or treat the body as if it were an object to be sculpted immediately”, he concludes.
