Getaway With An Acrobat: 7 High-Profile Sex Scandals In Different Countries’ Royal Families

These days, scandals in the royal families happen quite often, for example, the refusal of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from office. But history knows other examples, most often associated with love affairs.

Prince George

The Duke of Kent (1902-1942) was married to Marina, Princess of Greece and Denmark. However, he was neither a faithful servant of the crown nor a good husband: stories about his bisexual adventures were constantly leaked to the press. Thus, he was in contact with playwright Noel Coward and singer Jessie Matthews, and also used cocaine and morphine.

On August 25, 1942, he died in a plane crash that crashed into the rocks. The reason is still unknown: either he was under the influence of illegal drugs, or the plane was having difficulty climbing.

Prince Norodom Ranarit

The Cambodian prince in 2006 was convicted of adultery. The country has a monogamy law, so he almost went to jail. But it turned out that his marriage was not officially registered, so he escaped punishment and soon married his mistress, dancer Oak Phalla.

Queen Notando Dube

The Queen of Eswatini (formerly Swaziland) was one of King Mswati III’s 14 consorts. In 2011, she was caught cheating with Justice Minister Ndumisa Mamba. They were arrested and imprisoned, but were later allowed to leave the country. By the way, in 2004, two wives of this king immediately flew from Africa because of rumors of treason.

It is curious that in Eswatini for several years there was a law that girls were not allowed to have sex before the age of 21. The king, choosing one of his minor wives, began to pay the fine by giving the State… a cow!

King Carl XVI Gustaf

A biography of the Swedish monarch, published in 2010, says he visits strip clubs and has sex with different women for money and gifts. The king chose the tactic of ignoring and did not comment on these statements, as did his wife Silvia Renata.

King Albert II

The Belgian monarch denied for many years being the father of the artist Delphine Boel (1968), and it was not until January 2020 that he recognized his paternity. Delphine’s mother is the Belgian Baroness Sibil de Celis. In addition to her, the king has three other children born in marriage with Paola Margarita.

Princess Stephanie

The youngest daughter of Prince Rainier III of Monaco and actress Grace Kelly is famous for her many novels. For example, she gave birth to two children and married her own bodyguard – and divorced a year later, catching him cheating.

She then began dating an elephant trainer and forced her three children to live in a traveling circus. And then she left the coach for the sake of acrobat Adan Lopez Perez, with whom she also lived in marriage for only a year.

Tengku Temengong Mohammad Fakhri

The Malaysian prince married 16-year-old Indonesian model Manohara Odelia Pino in 2008. Two months later she returned to her mother, but the prince tricked her into returning to Malaysia. Two months later, she managed to escape him in Singapore. The girl said she was forcibly detained in the palace, given drugs and forced to have sex.
