Cold as ice: why figure skater Roman Kostomarov never married partners

Someone will say that Kostomarov was lucky with his partners. He starred with Anna Semenovich and Tatyana Navka – beautiful women who invariably excited the minds of men. But the skater didn’t even have a romantic relationship with any of them, let alone a marriage. And later, participating in Ice TV shows, Kostomarov avoided the intrigues that quite often arose on the project. How did he do it? The answer was given by Roman himself in an interview.

However, relations with Kostomarov’s partners did not always go smoothly. For example, at one time Roman quarreled with Tatyana Navka and left her for Anna Semenovich, which he later regretted – skating with her also did not work out. As a result, I had to ask Navka for forgiveness and return to the couple.

“I definitely had to push my ego a lot deeper. Whenever we had tense moments in training, I remembered almost all my sins. Several times I wanted to give up everything and leave, but each time I said to myself: “Be patient, be patient, be patient!” Kostomarov later recalled.

As life has shown, not everything was in vain – the couple Navka and Kostomarov caused a sensation at the Olympics in Turin. Athletes won gold medals – and left the big sport.

Kostomarov, however, could not accept the “pension” at first either. The athlete said that he even tried to team up with Oksana Domnina, whom he had already met at the time, in order to go to the 2010 Olympics. But this episode only illustrated how vividly the validity of Roman’s belief: no romance on ice.

“It became clear that working with me is not so easy. And that disagreements on the ice may well lead to the fact that we can scatter in life, ”said Kostomarov.

The skater gave up his dream of trying to become a double Olympic champion, but instead of another medal he received happiness in his personal life. They have already tested their feelings not only in health, but also in illness. Fortunately, Kostomarov was able to get out and now, despite the amputations, he is recovering and preparing to return to an active life. Well, the woman he loves supports him.
