In 1997, three years after the debut of Friends, Matthew Perry was injured while skiing. Doctors prescribed him the powerful painkiller Vicodin, to which Perry became addicted. He completed three rehabilitation courses – in 1997, 2001 and 2011.

Between treatments, he developed pancreatitis due to alcoholism and drug addiction. The actor admitted that he does not remember most of the work in “Friends” precisely because of his severe addiction. He regularly drank vodka and took pills.

In 2013, Perry even turned her own home into a rehab center where other drug addicts could get help on their journey to sobriety. Perry then sold the house due to financial problems. In 2018, Matthew Perry was hospitalized in Los Angeles. The actor underwent surgery on the gastrointestinal tract.

In February 2018, Aniston announced her divorce from actor Justin Theroux after three years of marriage.
