Rotaru, Bodrova and other widows loyal to their late husbands

Rotaru, Bodrova and other widows loyal to their late husbands

Perhaps each of us dreams of meeting that very one – with whom “both in sorrow and in joy, and die on the same day.” But sometimes life makes its own adjustments: each of the heroines of our material was so happy in marriage that even after the death of her husband she continues to be faithful to him.

Svetlana Bodrova

Spouse Sergei Bodrov died 19 years ago

“In general, I sometimes have such a crazy feeling that you and I are two different characters of the same person. We are like two twin brothers separated in the hospital and reunited many years later. Something is difficult, but the blood is native. You are my absolute destiny. And I truly believe in you. Believe me too. <...> Yet love is more important. It doesn’t matter if life itself is more important than death. Why? First, it’s the only thing that can compete with it in terms of finality. If a person were to die, the one who loved him would not stop loving. It is obvious. Secondly, the reverse, apparently, cannot be. I don’t know how love ends. If love ends, apparently, it is not her, ”Sergei Bodrov wrote such romantic letters to his beloved wife Svetlana.

The actor did not like to talk about his personal life, but in an interview he mentioned that since childhood he knew what his wife would be like. They were not together for so long: they met in 1997, a year later their daughter Olga was born, and in 2002 their son Alexander. The youngest was not yet a month old when his dad disappeared on the set of the film “The Messenger”…

Almost 20 years have passed since then: over the years, Svetlana gave only one interview. In it, she confirmed that she continues to be faithful to her deceased spouse. “In my life, Seryozha is the last man who was, and no one else has appeared in my life, either mentally or physically, in any way,” Bodrova admitted.

Sofia Rotaru

Her husband Anatoly Evdokimenko died 19 years ago

The year 2002 was also fatal for Sofia Rotaru: her husband, with whom they had lived in perfect harmony for 35 years, died suddenly. Anatoly Evdokimenko suffered from oncology, suffered three strokes, the last of which was fatal.

Sophia was extremely upset by her husband’s death. The artist did not even think about remarrying. “Her heart is occupied by her husband, although deceased. Forever, believe me, ”confirmed the singer’s son Ruslan Evdokimenko. And indeed: the years go by, but Sofia Mikhailovna is faithful to the one and only man in her life.

Irina Turchinskaya

Her husband Vladimir Turchinsky died 12 years ago

It was love at first sight. Irina and Vladimir met on the basis of love for sports and immediately fell in love with each other. So much so that Irina called her boyfriend and told him directly that everything was over between them, because she “met true love.”

They got married just as quickly, in 1999 they became the parents of their daughter Xenia. 12 years of absolute happiness were interrupted in an instant. On December 16, 2009, Vladimir felt a sharp pain in his chest, after which his heart stopped forever. An ambulance arrived on the scene and pronounced him dead of a heart attack. “I felt the deepest despair. I lost interest in life. The sun shines, but does not please. And not just the sun – even your own child. Life has become flat, like a decoration, ”Turchinskaya candidly admitted in an interview.

It took years and the help of specialists for Irina to recover. Nevertheless, Turchinskaya was not going to arrange her personal life after the death of her husband and will not. “He will remain my only beloved husband,” she says.

Larissa Golubkina

Spouse Andrey Mironov died 34 years ago

Popular Soviet actor Andrei Mironov was never deprived of female attention, while he himself was crazy about artist Larisa Golubkina. 11 years of long dating, four attempted marriage proposals, and finally the darling “yes”. In 1977, Mironov and Golubkina signed in one of the Moscow registry offices.

They lived in perfect harmony for 10 years. It is not clear how happy the spouses would still be if there had not been a terrible tragedy: just during the play “Crazy Day, or The Marriage of Figaro” Andrei lost consciousness without finishing the last scene. The artist did not come to his senses: the doctors declared a cerebral hemorrhage.

On the sidelines, there was no doubt that the 46-year-old widow would not be alone for long, because Golubkina had many boyfriends. Oh how wrong everyone is! Larisa has been faithful to her late husband for over 30 years!

Valentina Gagarin

Her husband Yuri Gagarin died in 1968

Valya Goryacheva – a modest brown-eyed girl with a scattering of freckles on her face – and an unknown cadet from the Orenburg flight school Yura Gagarin met at a dance. The girl instantly won the heart of the guy, he walked her home, made an appointment. Nevertheless, for the next two years they communicated as friends, until Yuri confessed his feelings to Valentina. Two years later, in 1957, the lovers finally got married. In 1959, their eldest daughter Elena was born, in 1961, a month before the flight of the first man into space, the youngest Galina.

Valentina walked through fire, water and copper pipes with Yuri: she patiently waited for training and flights, patronized her husband’s fame, she herself did not suffer from star sickness , she almost alone took care of the house and the children. Nevertheless, it was a happy marriage, full of joyful and bright moments.

Everything changes in 1968: Yuri Gagarin crashes during a training flight. As if anticipating death, the cosmonaut left a letter for his beloved wife: “If anything happens, I ask you, and first of all you, Valyusha, not to be grieved. After all, life is life, and no one guaranteed he wouldn’t be run over by a car tomorrow. Please take care of our daughters, love them as I love. Come out of them, please, not white hands, not mother daughters, but real people who would not be afraid of the bumps of life. Well, organize your personal life as your conscience tells you, as you see fit. I impose no obligation on you and I have no right to do so.

And Valentina organized her personal life exactly as she saw fit: she remained faithful to her late husband until his death. The couple were only together for 9 years and for the next 52 years she remembered the happiest time of her life. Valentina Ivanovna died in 2020.
