The Bahian singer dies in hospital after suffering a motorbike accident

Bahian singer Mounir Caldas, 41, did not survive and died on the night of Tuesday 26th, after suffering a motorcycle accident in the city of Guanambi, south-west of Bahia. According to the Civil Police, the circumstances of the accident are being investigated.

The accident occurred on Friday the 22nd, involving another motorbike. The health status of the other driver was not disclosed. Mounir was hospitalized, but died four days after the accident due to health complications.

TV Sudoeste, a TV Globo affiliate, reported that the musician suffered several fractures and underwent some surgeries before his death. He leaves behind his wife and three children.

The death was registered by the 1st Territorial Police Station (DT/Guanambi) on Tuesday 26th, after the death of Mounir.

The municipality of Guanambi published a note of condolence for the death of the singer. “In the face of the immense pain and emotion of the community, the feeling of solidarity expressed to the family, friends and fans, praying to God for spiritual comfort.”

Mounir became known in Bahia for singing forró and country music. On the artist’s social networks he published videos in which he performed at graduations and weddings in the region.

Mounir’s body was buried this Wednesday, the 27th, in the Santo Antônio cemetery, in Guanambi.
