The journalist Sandra Annenberg published a video on his social networks in which he tells in detail the story of the scare he faced on Thursday evening, the 16th. Globo journalist she had to be admitted to hospital after stepping on a poisonous taturana, which caused her “unbearable pain”.
He began the report by reassuring his fans. “I’ll start from the end: I’m fine, I’m fine, without any pain, it’s over! Now let’s go back to the beginning of this bizarre story”, began the presenter. “Yesterday I was leaving the house and in front of the door, on the ground, there was this animal that I thought was a leaf. I got closer and saw that it was an animal, I found it so interesting that I filmed it with my cell phone…”, he said.
Subsequently, the journalist said she left home to record Globo’s end-of-year cartoon, and returned to her home to celebrate an intimate moment with friends. We went to take them to the door, said ‘goodbye’, and I was barefoot… when I came back, I stepped on something and felt a sting, and I thought ‘I think I’ve been bitten by an ant’, and here at home there are many animals…”, he continued.
“The pain increased and started to hurt very, very, very badly! I started screaming in pain, it stung and burned, mind-boggling pain. I took some ice, on the sole of my foot, and it went away. When I took the ice hurt me again. I put some ice on it and the pain went away, I remove the ice and everything comes back…”, continued the presenter.
Sandra also said that she enlisted the help of internet users to identify the insect responsible for the incident.
“At the time I sent it to my doctor and said ‘what do I do?’, and he said: ‘You can go to the hospital because you might need an IV.’ And only then did I know that in our case dear Butantan, they have serums there… also for taturana burns… We went to the hospital, I was on ice the whole time… I received many drugs and they contacted the center if I needed this serum, and I don’t. Because it’s a worse taturana than how he bit me,” he continued.
The journalist concluded the report with a warning for her followers. “Here is my warning, because I knew that in this period of extreme heat, it is the time when they reproduce… I appeal here, that you do not go around killing animals,” she asked.
